CCR’s and film opening (It's All Over)

Wow.... I can't believe this is the end of my project for AICE Media it was an experience I think I wouldn't forgot being in the moment having to edit, film, and have good time management.

I learned a lot from taking this course and I am happy: Here is my film opening and CCR's.

Bye Blogger! I really enjoyed working on this project. Even though I was stressed out most of the time, it was still a great experience, and I learned a lot throughout the process. I’m proud of the work I created and excited to finally be finishing my AICE Media Portfolio.

Editing CCRs

Hi Cambridge!! I am so excited that I am 3/4 done with my AICE Media Portfolio Project. At first, I was really stressed because I had to film all my CCR's in one day on Thursday and then I was leaving for the airport the next day on Friday. It felt very rushed trying to get everything filmed and organized in such a short amount of time.

While I was on the airplane, I decided to use the time to start editing my first CCR. Even though traveling can be tiring, it actually gave me a good opportunity to focus on my project without many distractions. When I arrived at my destination, I continued working and edited my second CCR.

(Editing on the Plane)

Overall, I am really happy with the way both CCRs turned out. During the editing process I cut and trimmed the clips so that everything flowed smoothly. I also organized the footage, so the answers were clear and easy to follow. After that, I searched for audio that would match the tone of the project and added background music.

I also included transitions, such as fade-ins and fade-outs, to make the video look more polished and professional.

This process showed me how important editing is in media production because it helps bring all the different clips together into one finished piece.

Even though the process was stressful at times, I am proud of the progress I have made and excited to be so close to finishing my portfolio project!!

CCR Post Production

Hello! I'm happy to share that I've completed filming both of my CCRs! It's crazy how happy I am and how it's almost over. Having a script really helped me because memorization would've been difficult. I used my computer and we adjusted it, so it doesn't look like I'm reading off the script.

In these shots, we had to adjust the computer script to better fit each person. For the Steve Harvey CCR, we ended up improvising some parts so it would sound more natural and flow better on camera. Making these small changes helped the dialogue feel less scripted and more authentic, which improved the overall delivery in the final video.

Overall, filming my CCR was a fun experience because my friend Vanessa helped a lot throughout the process. She supported me while we were filming the opening and made the process much easier. Having my sister there as well also helped because it made me more comfortable and enjoyable while we were working together.

Final Reflection….

Wow, it’s finally the end of this project!! I couldn’t be happier because it was a one-of-a-kind experience. It was definitely difficult, but knowing it’s going to be over in a few days feels really rewarding. At the beginning of the project, I didn’t realize how much time, effort, and planning actually goes into creating a film opening. There were a lot of steps like brainstorming ideas, storyboard, planning scenes, filming, and then putting everything together through editing.

I personally enjoyed the filming part the most because it was fun bringing my ideas to life and actually seeing the scenes come together. Being on set and figuring out camera angles, lighting, and shots made the process exciting. However, the editing process was definitely the most stressful part for me. I had to constantly go back, fix small details, adjust clips, and make sure the videos matched the music. Sometimes it felt overwhelming, especially when things didn’t work the way I expected.

Even though there were stressful times, I learned a lot throughout the project. I improved my editing skills, learned how important planning is before filming, and realized how much teamwork matters when working on a project like this. My partner wasn’t always the most helpful, but she did what she could, and we still managed to finish the project even though I did most of the work.

Overall, I’m proud of what my partner and I created and how much I improved from the beginning of the project to the end. This experience taught me patience, creativity, and time management, and it gave me a better understanding of how much work goes into making a film opening. Even though it was stressful at times, I’m glad I got to do this project and see the final result come together.

CCR Research #4

Hi Cambridge!!

Today I am going to be talking about question #4

How did you integrate technologies software, hardware, and online in this project?

For this question it is important to:
  • Discuss hardware camera, lighting, microphone, phones, tripod, Dollie’s, sliders, etc
  • Discuss software, planning tools, editing tools
  • Graphic design tools filter, and animation tools
For the CCR Script
For this project, we used different types of technology including hardware, software, and online tools to create our film opening.

For the hardware, we used two different cameras to film our scenes. The beach scenes were filmed on a digital camera for the opening shot then shifts to a Sony a7iii camera, while the bedroom scene was filmed using an iPhone. On the iPhone we used the Blackmagic Camera app because it allowed us to control things like exposure and focus, which helped make the footage look more professional. For the beach scenes we also used a microphone to capture clearer audio of the environment it didn't work out as planned but I used sound effects, including the waves and seagulls. We used a tripod during the beach scenes to keep the shots stable some shots were handheld on purpose, but for the bedroom scene we filmed handheld to make it feel more natural and personal and didn't use microphone instead I used a website called Adobe Podcast this improves the audio quality. We also relied on natural lighting for all of the scenes, especially at the beach, which helped create a realistic and cinematic atmosphere.

For the software, I edited the entire film opening using Adobe Premiere Pro. In the editing process I cut and arranged the clips, adjusted the pacing, and added sound effects like ocean waves in the opening black screen. This helped build suspense and allowed viewers to imagine the setting before seeing it.

For graphic design, my partner created the film title and credits using Canva. We chose a cursive style font to match the emotional tone of the story. The animation for the text was a simple fade in and fade out, which keeps the titles clean and professional while not distracting from the visuals.

By combining different hardware, editing software, and graphic design tools, we were able to produce a more clean and cinematic film opening.

CCR Research #3

I’ve completed half of my film opening and the #1 CCR reflection, this week I will be completing the  second CCR and talk about the what my ideas are.

Today I am going to be talking about question #3

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

For this question it is important to:
  • Reflect on how your process evolved throughout the production
  • Discuss your research and planning
  • Discuss your approach to production what you had to change or adapt
  • End with reflection on where you started and where you ended
For the CCR Script

At the beginning of the project, I started by doing research and planning. My partner and I looked at film openings and different camera techniques to understand how directors create mood and tell a story. We also planned our scenes, shots, and locations we filmed at Hollywood beach and a storyboard, so we had a clear idea of how we wanted our film opening to look. This process didn’t go as planned my partner wasn’t here so I was stressed and we needed to film since we were behind, but I had help from my other friends and it all worked out.

During the production process, my skills improved as I researched different camera angles, and movements like tracking shots and close-ups. I also learned more about editing, including how to cut clips smoothly and add sound effects to create a better atmosphere and doing slow motion. While filming, we also had to adapt and make small changes depending on lighting, timing, and what worked best on camera. We filmed during Sunset, so we had to act fast and be quick

Overall, my production skills developed a lot throughout this project. At the start, I had already had basic knowledge of filming and editing, but by the end I became more confident with planning shots, using editing techniques, and creating a more cinematic film opening.

CCR Research #2

I’ve completed half of my film opening and the #1 CCR reflection, this week I will be completing the  second CCR and talk about the what my ideas are.

Today I am going to be talking about question #2.

How does your product engage with the audience and how would be distributed as a real media text?

For this question it is important to:
  • Target Audience
  • Discuss how you arrived at your target audience
  • Discuss your production choices, content, etc to engage with your target audience
  • CITE!!! Research
  • Discuss plan to make film available to audience
  • Realistic questions for the response
Script
Today I am talking about CCR Question #2: How does your product engage with the audience and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

My target audience is mainly teenagers and young adults, around ages 13–25. I chose this audience because people in this age group often enjoy suspenseful and emotional stories. My film opening focuses on the relationship between two sisters and includes mystery, which helps the audience connect with the characters.

I decided on this target audience by researching similar thriller and drama films that are popular with younger audiences such as Scream, Fractured, and US. To engage them, I used production choices like emotional moments, slo-mo shots, and suspenseful scenes. For example, the beach opening with ocean sounds helps set the mood, and the scene where the younger sister appears faded creates mystery and makes the audience curious about what is happening.

If this film were a real media text, it could be distributed through streaming platforms, film festivals, and online platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Social media could also be used to promote the film and reach the target audience.

CCR production ideas

Hi blog!! Today I will be talking about my CCR production ideas I really like my idea and I’m excited to share.

For the plan it’s a TikTok style Idea CCR so the script for the beginning will be:

  • (Friend) “ Today I’m going around the park asking people what they have been up too”
  • (Friend) “Let’s interview her over there”
  • (Friend) “ Hey what have you been up to recently”
  • (Me)” Oh well I I’m currently working on a portfolio project for AICE Media”
  • (Friend) “What is it about?”
  • ( Me) “ My project is called washed away it stars Meliyah Duke and her little sister Lillyen Duke the story follows two sisters but something unexpected happened, the target audience…..”
This is how my CCR will be filmed, and I am going to stick with this idea. I will not be changing anything because I already have a clear plan for how I want it to look. For my CCR, I will speak to the camera and include visuals or clips from my project to help explain my ideas. I think this will make my CCR fun, creative, and easy to understand.

For my next idea it will be a talk show with Steve Harvey so I will print out the Steve Harvey card, and my sister will be Steve Harvey. She will ask me questions about from my CCR this will be the script:
(Steve Harvey)" welcome to the one and only let it roll talk show, today we have a special guest"
(Steve Harvey)" Meliyah Duke"
(Steve Harvey)" So Meliyah tell the audience how your project is going"
(Meliyah)"The AICE Media project has been going well and I'm proud of what I created"

I will be talking about CCR #3 and #4. I like this Steve Harvey idea because it is engaging and fun, and it will make my CCR more interesting to watch. This format will allow me to explain my answers in a creative way while still clearly showing my understanding of the project.
